Are some of you folks still cleaning your pool the old fashioned way. Standing at the edge with those big long poles (trying to not fall in ), pulling the wire brush up and down around the whole perimeder of your pool, trying to reach the center of the pool bottom without that fatal topple over? Well, AzGrandpa has always done it the easy way - on SCUBA gear. Pool temp today was only 87 degrees - still a little chilly for us Valley of the Sun Folks. He spent a quiet, relaxing, 45 minutes with his brush and portable UW vacumn merrily brushing down the pool.
If you ever have wondered what Reg & Val are up to, here are some of our pictures for U 2 check out :)
Finally - Arizona --- it's cold cold cold
It's 11pm and only 54 degrees. BURRRRRR

Grandkids
Avery
and
Audrey hit super sized soft golf balls with giant foam clubs to their Papa and Uncle Rowan at the grassy park in Grandpa and Grandma's subdivision. Grandpa and Great Uncle Van sat at the picnic table and cheered them on, while Papa and Uncle Rowan ran for the golf balls. Because we have had an unusual spring for Mesa - with lot's of rain and cooler weather - there is still green grass in the park. Usually by the start of May it's all dried up. The weather this day was so unusually perfect for the month of June. Breezy and cool with nice afternoon shade.
The week before the party the pool was 88 degree's, Finally! But for a couple of days before the party the weather got cooler, below 100,then below 95, and the pool got cooler too, only 84. Just a tad bit too cool for us AZ folks. ! Janet and Van from Colorado laughed at me when I said the water is too cold at 84. They are happy when their public pool in Cortez is 75 degrees! Burrrrr. Janet even went swimming in the early morning here.
The kids all loved the "FOG" feature Grandpa has build into the pool. Plus they all love the fountain jets too. Audrey had a squirt gun fight with Uncle Reggie.

On Friday June 4th Reg stopped at an estate sale. A gal about our age was clearing everything out to downsize herself for a move to another location. She told Reg that her Mother had cared for her father the last years of his life and that's why she had so much "old guys" stuff. He and his second wife were collectors of things, he had been a furniture builder. Her father had immigrated here from Italy as a yound man. Reg found this leather plaque with 3 medals on it, she thought it might be something to do with an Italian stuff, and the gal sold it to him for .50 cents. She told Reg she though it was something her Dad brought here from Italy. We did a few hours of research on the Internet and found that is from France. It's a souvenir from the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris. France held the World's Fair and the Summer Olympics at the same time. The history about it was fascinating (read about it on Wikipedia). Russ came over and he found out something similar to it had sold on E-Bay for $57.00. Reg was a Happy Grandpa !
Post Card update. I got postcards sent to all the houses in a small sub-division here in the east valley, and a couple of streets in another small sub-division. I am now working on getting 40-50 out to some of Reg and Reggie's regular customers. So far - no response. Expected rate of response on Post Card Mailings is 1 1/2 %. Cross your fingers for me.

Busy, Busy, Busy. My little sister Janet helped me by making the wonderful format for postcards for Delta Plumbing - throught the internet - even though we live states apart ! Wow the world is changing isn't it. I have been making a mailing list and mailing labels and printing the cards to send out for a Delta Plumbing June July special. I got 30 done & mailed yesterday, trying for 40 today and tomorrow.
It is now 100 degree plus here - but the nights are still in the 70's so the pool hasn't gotten over 82 yet ! Boo Hoo .
